Bee Gee’s Wrote Country Music’s Biggest Duet Hit
The famous Gibb Brothers helped define the Disco music era that swept the world in the late 1970's. The "Saturday Night Live" soundtrack featured the Bee Gees and sold millions of copies world wide.
So what in the world do they have to do with Country Music?
Well, those same Bee Gees wrote the biggest duet country music hit in history! No, it wasn't Conway and Loretta or George and Tammy. The biggest selling duet hit in country music history was released in August 1983 with Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton's "Islands In The Stream". It sold over 2 million copies in the U.S.
And one more thing...the Conway Twitty number one 1981 hit "Rest Your Love On Me" was written by Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees. A talented man!
