Christine Manika is the new Morning Co-Host on KXRB! She graduated from Saint Xavier University in Chicago, Illinois with a degree in Mass Communications concentrating in News and Sports Broadcasting. Christine earned Summa Cum Laude honors as an undergraduate student.
During her undergraduate career, she was the Sports Reporter for WXAV 88.3 FM, SXU-TV, and “The Xavierite” Newspaper at SXU. Christine was also a regular DJ on Friday nights for WXAV 88.3 FM. Before her senior year in college, Christine completed an internship with Fox 32 Chicago News as a Newsroom Intern. Her experience also includes her time at Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana where she was also the Sports Reporter and Anchor for 93.3 The Joe: WPUM and TV6 News. Like WXAV, Christine also hosted a Friday night show on WPUM.
Shortly after graduation, Christine moved to Sioux Falls in 2018 to jump-start her career as a Multimedia Journalist at a television station. She would write, edit, shoot, and report stories throughout the Sioux Empire. Christine was able to connect with public officials and community members to share their story with viewers.
Christine hails from North Riverside, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago. When she’s not cracking jokes at Mark, Christine can be found running on the bike trails or exploring her new city! She also loves spending time with her family and friends.
Some fun facts about Christine: she is a twin! Christine’s twin sister Katie is studying to be an Agricultural Veterinarian at the University of Illinois! Christine is very passionate about all types of music and sports. Her favorite band is U2 and her favorite sports team is the Chicago White Sox.
