Located halfway between Chicago and Des Moines, you'll find the "World's Largest Truck Stop". If you haven't seen it for yourself, it's a sight to behold. At over 225 acres, the I-80 Truck Stop isn't just a pit-stop for gas, it's an experience.

Now, this wonder of the Hawkeye State is getting the recognition it deserves, being featured this past weekend on CBS Sunday Morning.

CBS Sunday Morning has been on the air since January of 1979, meaning it's been running for over 45 years now. But it's never made a trip to Walcott, Iowa. Until now, that is.

The Newsmagazine did a lengthy spread on the I-80 Truck Stop, even speaking to Delia Moon Meier, owner and Senior Vice President of the company. The truck stop goes back to the 1960s and was founded by her father, Bill Moon, just as Interstate 80 was expanding from New Jersey to California.

I-80 Truck Stop offers several unique things that you normally would never find in a truck stop. These include a barber, a fitness center, a full-scale truck wash, and even Interstate Dental, an emergency dental care service.

Iowa Palmer Company's Twin Bing Products

Can you even really claim to live in this part of the country if you've never had a Twin Bing?

WHAT IS A TWIN BING?

"It consists of two round, chewy, cherry-flavored nougats coated with a mixture of chopped peanuts and chocolate. The Twin Bing was introduced in the 1960s," -Wikipedia

Not only has the TB been a staple of the Sioux Empire for over half a decade, but the makers of the classic candy have also infused the unique cherry and chocolate flavor into lots of other things.
