In just a matter of days, the 80th Annual Sioux Empire Fair will open its gates.  This is a big year for the fair.  Staff members made it their mission to make this the best fair yet, and what better way to fulfill this goal than having amazing food?!

New food vendors from all over will be available at the fair.  Courtney Drenth of the Sioux Empire Fair says she's excited about one particular vendor.  "This year we have a vendor that specializes in maple products including maple cotton candy," says Drenth.

Of course, there will be your classic fair food like corn dogs, funnel cakes, and mini donuts.  Drenth states," We have a large variety of foods for people to enjoy. You could come out for every meal during the nine days of the fair and always have something different to try."

Besides the new and returning food vendors, there are also new attractions coming to the fair.  Drenth explains some of the rides and attractions are surprises for fair-goers.  But she guarantees people will not be disappointed.  "We have all local talent on the Front Porch, which I am excited to support our local musicians," says Drenth.   "We have Johnny D Robot which is a John Deere inspired Transformer-like nine-foot-tall Robot. He has state of the art lights and sound along with the ability to talk and interact with the audience. He will be strolling the grounds throughout the fair! "

As a reminder, admission to the fair is $10 for adults and $5 for children.  Any child under the age of five can enter the fair for free.  Grandstand entertainment on August 3rd-10th is free with paid gate admission.
