When you're talking about country music duo's and duet's a number of legendary names pop to mind.

Conway and Loretta. Porter and Dolly. George and Tammy. Kenny and Dolly.

And while they may not immediately come to mind, if you were a country music fan in the 1970's you know and love these names: Jim Ed and Helen.

Jim Ed brown and Helen Cornelius burst onto the country music scene as a duo with their debut single, 1976's 'I Don't Want To Have To Marry You'. It shot up the country music chart and became a #1 smash.

The Arkansas native Jim Ed Brown and the Missouri native Helen Cornelius had 'it', whatever 'it' is. Their voices blended so beautifully together and the chemistry they had in the studio transferred perfectly on stage. They seemed, well, destined to sing together. They had more than 10 Top Twenty hits over the next several years. And while we sadly lost the Country Music Hall of Famer Jim Ed Brown in 2015 at the age of 81, Helen is alive and well at 79 (and maybe you've seen her on RFD TV, still sounding as good as ever!).

Oh, and their follow-up to 'I Don't Want To Have To Marry You' was a song called 'Saying Hello, Saying I Love You, Saying Goodbye' and it proved to be their second smash hit!
