OK, let's dance. I mean really dance. Let's get up and do a mean jitterbug!

It's 1986 and Dan Seals scored his first solo Number One country hit with 'Bop'.

Now, we have to emphasize country hit because Dan had seen the top of the music chart before as half of the popular 1970's pop music duo England Dan and John Ford Coley.

That's right, The guy who would go on to score eleven number one country hit's and have a spectacular country career in the 1980's and 90's was England Dan.

Oh, and by the way, he was from Texas. That's just a wee bit away from England.

But back to 'Bop'.

It was released in October of 1985 as the second single from Dan's Won't Be Blue Anymore album. But it wasn't until early 1986 that 'Bop' reached number one...and we all were hooked. And yes, it crossed over becoming a pop and adult contemporary hit as well.

Seven straight number one hit's would follow the success of 'Bop', including his follow-up single and perhaps my favorite Dan Seals song 'Everything That Glitters (Is Not Gold)'. But wait...I have so many Dan favorites, it might be 'One Friend', 'They Rage On', 'My Old Yellow Car' and so many more.

Sadly, Dan passed away in 2009 at the much too young age of 61.

But for now, go back to 1986, play the video above and...OK everybody, let's Bop!
