YANKTON, S.D. (AP) — Officials say hosting an international competition has bolstered the future of the National Field Archery Association's Easton Yankton Archery Complex.

The Yankton facility recently hosted nearly 600 archers from 51 countries for the 2015 World Archery Youth Championships.

Tournament Manager Nancy Wenande says officials with the Iraq and Puerto Rico teams have expressed interest about returning to the facility to train.

And the Daily Press & Dakotan reports that National Field Archery Association President Bruce Cull says the group likely will bid on hosting a world competition for adult archers in 2018.

He says he hopes the Yankton complex also can serve as a training site for Olympic archers.
