South Dakota National Guard Holding Statewide Food Drive

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Volunteer members of the South Dakota National Guard are holding a food drive across the state.

The donations will benefit people in need who live in the communities where the Guard members serve. Volunteers will be accepting non-perishable food donations from the public through June 10 at any Army National Guard armory in the state and at the Air National Guard base in Sioux Falls.

This is the third year that volunteers set out to collect food for people in need. Last year's effort resulted in more than 3,200 pounds of donated food. Volunteers hope to gather at least 4,000 pounds of food this year.
