Domestic Incident Forces Aberdeen Police Officer to Shoot Man
An Aberdeen, South Dakota Police Officer shot a man over the weekend.
The incident happened as police responded to a domestic disturbance call just after midnight at a residence located at 324 Marshall Street in Aberdeen on Saturday, August 13, 2016.
Shot was 21-year-old Ehkhu Hser Poe.
Poe was taken to an Aberdeen hospital and treated for his injuries. His current condition is not available at this time.
According to Aberdeen Police Chief Dave McNeil, the officer involved in the shooting was also hurt during the incident. The police officer was treated for injuries and released from an Aberdeen hospital.
As part of standard procedure, the officer involved in the shooting will be place on administrative leave as Attorney General Marty Jackley investigate the case.
A summary of the officer's actions is expected to be released within 30 days.
