Emotional Journey Ends For Strong Minnesota Singer on ‘The Voice’

A Southeast Minnesota native is feeling the love from the Sioux Empire and fans after her time on Season 28 of The Voice comes to an end.

Originally from Kasson, Minnesota, Cori Kennedy showed off her "Rockstar Attitude" during the Knockout Rounds of The Voice. She never backed down from this challenge and blew the audience away.

Throughout the competition, Cori has shown the nation what 'real country' is all about. Her voice made a big impression on the show, especially on her Coach, country legend Reba McEntire.

Cori Kennedy's Epic Run Comes To An End During The Knockout Round of The Voice

The Knockouts proved to be Cori Kennedy's biggest challenge yet. She was up against fellow teammate and country artist Aaron Nichols. Cori calls her partner a "Chris Stapleton reincarnated." But this was a night of rock for the country singers.  For his Knockout song, Aaron performed "Hurricane" from Band of Heathens. And for the Minnesota singer, Cori did a rendition of "Yoü and I" from Lady Gaga.

You can tell from each performance that this was not going to be an easy choice for Coach Reba!

In the end, Reba made the tough decision to send Aaron Nichols through to the next round.

This Minnesota gal really gave it her all in every performance, and even though her time on the show is over, Cori is feeling the "overwhelming love." She posted a heartfelt Instagram post thanking everyone for being part of the "incredible experience."

I don't think this is the last time we'll hear about Cori Kennedy. Thank you for sharing your voice and gift with everyone, Cori! You represented Minnesota well!
