Annual Spring Cleanup Delayed Again in Brookings
BROOKINGS - The city of Brookings has again had to postpone its annual "Dump Day" event because of wintry weather.
Residents wanting to leave items on city curbs as part of a citywide spring cleanup have to wait until Sunday.
The Brookings Register reports that the date has been postponed twice because of snow (http://bit.ly/11ly5cM ). It originally had been scheduled for April 15, but that was the day the state was slammed with an ice storm.
The newspaper reports that all items should be on the curb by Sunday. City crews will start collecting on Monday.
