Week of Warm Weather Helps South Dakota Row Crops

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A week of warm weather has helped the development of row crops in South Dakota.

The Agriculture Department says in its weekly crop report that temperatures over the past week have been well above normal. That aided crops such as corn, soybeans and sunflowers.

About two-thirds of the state's winter wheat crop has been planted. That's equal to last year and near the average pace over the past five years.

Pasture and range conditions in South Dakota are rated 70 percent good to excellent. Stock water supplies are 87 percent adequate to surplus.
