Every year on April 2, it is an official food holiday that is celebrated by all. It is National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day.

Who doesn't love the world famous PB&J sandwich? It is a very delightful snack or even a lunch. And of course the only thing you can possibly wash it down with, is a nice cold glass of milk.

Writing this story is making me hungry for one right now. I'm thinking of some creamy Jiff peanut butter topped with strawberry preserves.

You know, just thinking about a PB&J sandwich automatically takes you back to great childhood memories. I think actually eating one somehow makes you feel like a kid again.

The treat was part of growing up, it was a part of life. A study was done and it was determined the average kid will have consumed 2000 PB&J sandwiches by the time they graduate from high school.

So who gets credit for inventing the delicacy? Do you know it was the soldiers of the civil war? Yes, they had peanut butter rations and jelly rations, and they put the two together out in the field and it gave them great comfort. And rest was history.
