No doubt about it. The Highwaymen were country music's greatest Supergroup. And why not? Heck, when you take one part Willie, one part Waylon, a dash of Kris and cover it with Cash...yep, that's the recipe for a Supergroup alright.

But these 'Old Dogs' weren't anything to sniff at either!

Signed to Atlantic Records in 1998, the Old Dogs were Hall of Famer Waylon Jennings, Hall of Famer Mel Tillis, Hall of Famer Bobby Bare and should-be Hall of Famer Jerry Reed. Now, toss in the incredibly creative writing of Shel Silverstein and what you get are fun, make you laugh and make you think songs like 'Still Gonna Die'.

As you may have noticed, 'ol Waylon must be pretty super, he was in both Supergroups!

I can only imagine the fun that was had in the studio when these 4 giant talents sat around a microphone. By the way, most of the material these guys did was, as mentioned above, written by the late great Shel Silverstein. You may not recognize the name Shel Silverstein, but if you've sung along with songs like 'Boy Named Sue', 'Marie LeVeau', 'The Unicorn' and many more, well, they all came from Shel.

So now, one more song from country music's other Supergroup.
