Catching a glimpse of a cattle herd roaming the hills of the South Dakota prairie is a pretty common sight. Spotting a moose in the middle of the grazing cows is a far less common sight, and likely something that will make any passerby question just what state they're in.

But a viral piece of drone footage is proving that the definition of a 'herd animal' might need a rewrite. Amassing over a million views in just a few short weeks, the video captures a truly extraordinary scene: a wild and majestic moose calmly acting as the newest (and biggest) member of a cow pasture.

Dakota Film Co. has captured another fascinating video, this time of a moose grazing with a cattle herd in the central part of the state. Truth be told, moose are not endemic to South Dakota, meaning there are no active populations living year-round within the state's borders. They are, however, transient animals and will occasionally pass through the Mount Rushmore State, most likely from Wyoming, Montana, or even Minnesota.

This moose (assuming it remembers that it IS still a moose) is most likely just relaxing with the cows and enjoying the company, before heading back on its own to wherever it came from in the first place. The cows though... They are the main attraction (in my opinion) in this clip, as they are clearly a little bewildered by their new friend. That being said, they're also clearly okay with the moose hanging inside their bubble.
