Good Dogs! Local South Dakota K-9 Unit Helps in Major Drug Bust

There are some courageous South Dakota K9s who deserve an extra bone or two for their hard work discovering over 20 pounds of drugs. Wow!

Officials with the Turner County Sheriff's Office just completed a major drug bust operation, and the officers have their loyal companions to thank for their assistance.

In a Facebook post from the Turner County Sheriff's Office, this latest drug arrest took place during a traffic stop early on Saturday, August 1st.

This drug discovery would not be possible without the help of the K9 unit from Yankton County Sheriff's Office.

How Big Was The Latest South Dakota Drug Bust?

According to the Turner County Sheriff's Office and Yankton County Sheriff's Office, officials confiscated approximately 26 pounds of pure marijuana. Besides the marijuana, the search led to an interesting discovery...evidence of methamphetamine. This is a significant South Dakota drug bust!

During the investigation, approximately 26 pounds of raw marijuana were located inside the vehicle. Investigators also discovered methamphetamine residue on the packaging material and throughout the vehicle.
