When it comes to burgers, there is definitely one for everyone, especially in Sioux Falls! I know at this point, I'm not eating all 50 burgers in this year's Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle. But before the competition ends, I have a few more Burger Battle reviews!

The next burger from Dahlia Kitchen + Bar might be part of your breakfast routine. Say hello to the "Avocado Sunrise."

According to a previous article from my co-worker Jeff Harkness, the Avocado Sunrise is an " 8 oz beef patty with candied bacon, crispy deep fried avocado slices, queso fresco, pickled red onions and creamy poblano garlic aioli, all crowned with an over medium egg nestled into a soft brioche bun." This is definitely one of my favorite burgers this year.

I know not everyone is a fan of eggs on burgers. However, Dahlia Kitchen + Bar was so clever in hiding the egg inside the bun. The bonus was that this burger wasn't totally messy. The first bite felt like a slow Saturday morning with a cup of coffee. It would be the perfect burger to eat after a long night out. All I needed was hot sauce on the egg.

If you love breakfast, then you'll love this burger. Here are other reviews from this year's Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle:

Don't forget to vote for your favorite on the DTSF Digital Passport app. Your vote is based on:

Hurry! You have until this Saturday, January 31st, to complete the epic 2026 Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle!

From Frybread to Pheasants - Here are South Dakota's Official State Things

Every state in our nation has chosen things that represent the state in one way or another to be official state things. Like a flower, or animal. South Dakota is no different.

The Mount Rushmore has a state flower. But did you know we also have a state tree and a state fish? Yes, we even have a state code.

Here is what we have so far in Wyoming. Thanks to the South Dakota Secretary of State's Office for the info:
