I had no idea that there was a controversy between those the sleep WITH A TOP SHEET and those that DON'T SLEEP WITH A TOP SHEET. Say WHAT!?

The reason for using a bed sheet is to create a barrier between you and your comforter or blankets. The given thinking is that you should wash your sheets at least once a week. Comforters and blankets are much tougher to wash than sheets. So are those folks that don't use top sheets washing their blankets and/or comforter every week?

Casper.com asked the question “Should You Use A Top Sheet On Your Bed?” The responses were:

  • 32.5% Strongly Agree
  • 25.7% Agree
  • 24.8% Couldn't Care, Less,
  • 7.4% Disagree
  • 9.6% Strongly Disagree

Overall, 58% of Americans agree or strongly agree that a top sheet is essential while 67% of Americans aged 55+ feel a top sheet is essential. 18% of people aged 18-24 actually feel strongly against the use of a top sheet.

Casper.com goes on to make the point that 47 species of fungi have been found on used bedsheets and that the average human sweats up to 26 gallons a year, plus our beds have been found to be dirtier than chimpanzees!

While my wife and I are most definitely in the YES TOP SHEET camp I really had no idea there were so many that say NO TOP SHEET for them!? Which camp are you in?
