Local and statewide authorities across South Dakota are on a mission to find a " non-compliant Sex Offender." He could literally be anywhere, including out of the state of South Dakota

Police are trying to locate 46-year-old sex offender Benjermin Kelley. He also has been known to go by the name Benjamin Kelly.

Why Are South Dakota Police Searching For Benjermin Kelley?

According to his public file, Benjermin was convicted in 1999 for "Felony Sexual Contact with a Minor Under 16." He was 19 at the time of the crime. It occurred in Lake County and the minor was only 13...this is despicable.

South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley explains to our news partners at Dakota News Now that locating Kelley is essential to public safety around the Sioux Empire and beyond.

“Compliance with sex offender registration laws is essential for maintaining public safety and ensuring communities have the information they need to stay protected. Investigators believe he is still living in a rural part of South Dakota. We are asking for the public’s help to find him.”

Benjermin Kelley has been known to live in Sioux Falls and in the Madison area. The puzzling part is police haven't had a clear idea of where Benjermin is since 2008. You can see his whole police case here.
