Nothing Says Love like Bacon Roses. Here’s the Recipe
For a birthday, anniversary or just because, the next gift for your guy could be the best ever and the cost is under ten bucks..... Bacon Roses.
To make a lovely bouquet, you'll need:
- a vase
- an artificial flower bunch or individual artificial flower stems
- 1 package of bacon
- toothpicks
- a broiler pan or baking pan
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees, unwrap the bacon package and separate each strip. Roll up each strip of bacon and secure it with toothpicks in an x pattern. Line the rolled up bacon standing up on a baking pan or broiler pan, allowing room for grease to escape. Bacon strips typically have a fat side and a meat side. Make sure the meat side is on the top of your rose bud. Bake for approximately 25-30 minutes till done. The exterior of the bacon rose will be crispy, while the the interior will be cooked, but softer and chewier. Remove the flower heads from the artificial flowers, and replace the bacon roses. Be sure the bacon has had a chance to cool so you don't burn your fingers.
Have napkins ready, this is a greasy and slippery chore, but so worth it.
It's creepy cool just how much these bacon roses look like real roses!
