New WIC Guidlines Mean More Could Qualify
New guidelines for family income and qualifying for the WIC supplemental food program were put into effect on May 1,2015 for residents of South Dakota.
Previously a family of 4 needed to make under $44,123 dollars to qualify for assistance. The New guidelines mean that same family of four can make approximately $750 more per year and still qualify.
Qualifications are determined by the number in a household and income levels. The guidelines are mandated federally by the USDA and provided to states to implement.
