National Coffee Day

Happy National Coffee Day! I know there is some weird holiday almost every day, but this one I can really get behind.

For my job, I have to get up early, so I'm tired a lot. I try to drink mostly water throughout the morning, but I need a little pick me up by 10 or so. I look forward to that flavorful boost in the mid morning. Yum!

National Coffee Days are celebrated all over the world. According to Wikipedia the intent behind the holiday is:

The first official date was 1 October 2015, as agreed by the International Coffee Organization^[1] and was launched in Milan.^[2] This day is also used to promote fair trade coffee and to raise awareness for the plight of the coffee growers.^[3]On this day, many businesses offer free or discounted cups of coffee.^[4]

Like Wikipedia said many business do have specials today.

Locally, with the Scooter's app you get a free small coffee with food purchase, with the Casey's General Store app you get fifty cents off a coffee, and one listener told us Kum & Go has free coffee today.
