It's the return of 'Stars Of The Grand Ole Opry' to Parker, South Dakota. The show originally starred Jim Ed Brown and Jimmy Fortune.

However, we were saddened to learn of Jim Ed Brown's health crisis. Jim Ed will not make this year's show.

The show will go on. Jimmy Fortune will do the entire show.

Jimmy, a former member of the retired Statler Brothers, will put on a great show for sure. He has plenty of material both from his days with the Statlers, as well as new material he has put together as a solo artist.

Jimmy brought the Statlers to a whole new level. His song writing as well as his singing voice make him one of the best you could ever see.

The show is Sunday, October 26, at 2pm at the Parker High School Gym. Tickets are $30 at the door or $25 in advance.

Advance tickets are available at Merchants State Bank in Hurley, Viborg and Freeman. Jim's Farm and Sporting Supply, Jone's Food Center and the Turner County Sheriff's Office in Parker also have tickets. Or you can get them at Security State Bank in Chancellor and The Diamond Room in Sioux Falls.

All proceeds benefit the Turner County Ministerial Association and the Turner County Food Pantries.

Jimmy is a personal friend of mine and this is my favorite song by him that the Statlers had a big hit with. Jimmy actually wrote this song for his son at a time when touring was taking him away from home so much that his little boy thought dad didn't love him anymore.
