Sioux Falls C-Store Worker Threatened with Axe during Robbery
On Monday, a Sioux Falls convenience store worker had to deal with a pair of suspects with an axe to grind and a bottle of booze to steal.
The incident occurred around 4:30 in the morning on (October 16) at a Sioux Empire convenience store located at the intersection of Cleveland Ave and 6th Street.
Dakota News Now reports the employee on duty at the time confronted a man who appeared to be in the process of stealing a bottle of alcohol. When he did, the suspect produced an axe and threatened the worker with it. The suspect then made his way out of the establishment and the convenience store employee followed in pursuit.
According to Dakota News Now, once outside, the suspect was joined by another person. The employee, who had to have been feeling somewhat invincible at this point, once again confronted both suspects, this time the second suspect involved brandished an axe and threatened the employee.
The police report states the two suspects, perhaps we should refer to them as the Bunyan boys, then left the scene with the alcohol and the weapons. And by the sound of the story, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they also had a blue ox in tow.
Thankfully, no one was injured as a result of the robbery.
Dakota News Now is reporting that authorities are still searching for the pair of suspects involved, no arrests have been made at this time.
