It’s the Longest Day of the Year
Summer begins on June 21, and we are enjoying the longest day of the year. It doesn't have anything to do with how many hours from one date to the next.
No, it's not a 27 hour day or anything like that. We are still looking at Wednesday being 24 hours long.
It's the longest day as far as daylight. To be exact, the sun will be up 15 hours and 26 minutes. Rising at 5:46 AM and setting at 9:12 PM.
From this point of the year, the daylight hours get shorter each day until into December. Therefore, get outside and soak up some sun.
Did you know that sunshine enhances vitamin D production. I think we can all agree that sunshine puts us all in a better mood and gives us more energy.
