Meals On Wheels Aids Seniors Enduring Isolation Of Harsh Winter
It's more expensive than ever to be a caregiver for a loved one, like a parent. That according to a just-released study by the website Caring Dot Com.
According to the most recent statistics, for most caregivers it costs at least $5,000 a year to care for a loved one.
And the cost goes well beyond dollars and cents - from the hours spent tending to a loved one's needs, to the toll it can take on a career.
In fact, more than half of those surveyed said they've missed one or more weeks of work while caring for a loved one.
Thirty-one percent admitted to arriving at work late or early just in order to work around their care-giving obligations.
