Community Pays $47,000 for Pig After Boy Loses Mother
During the Livestock sale at the Hardee County fair in Wauchula, Florida, a community rallied around a young man who recently lost his mother.
Fox13 News reported that when 11-year-old Heath Hendry walked into the sale ring with his hog, the whole room initially went completely silent.
Heath's mother, an elementary teacher and a single mom, had died suddenly of a heart attack.
In a show of support, the community came together to purchase Heath's pig, which ended up selling for $47,000!
Heath's swine, which normally would have brought around $4 to $6 per pound, but because of the outpouring of love from his community brought $170 per pound!
