As you would expect with a house at this price, there are several code violations and the house is in need of complete rehab so you won't be moving your stuff in after closing. BUT, it is a house that you could buy for only $5,000.

The house at 837 5th Ave N in Clinton, Iowa was originally listed in November of 2020 with a starting price of $30,000. Since then the price has decreased monthly until the property was taken off the market in September of 2021. It was relisted in March of 2022.

This isn't the largest house around at only 864 square feet, but they managed to squeeze three bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms into the space. Cozy comes to mind. The lot is a third of an acre.

The realtor says the rear of the home has a nice wooded view and features a walk-out basement. There are several code violations to be addressed and a plan of action will need to be filed with the city prior to closing. Sounds like a good project for a flip or knock it down and build new.
