AG: Inmate Who Died from Overdose Did not Get Drugs Inside Prison
An inmate died in the Brown County Jail from a Meth overdose, but she didn’t get the meth from inside the prison. That’s the report from the Division of Criminal Investigation and the review of the death of Sarah Circle Bear in the Brown County Jail.
Autopsy results confirmed a lethal dose of meth and no other contributing factors.
Circle Bear was booked in the Brown County Jail on July 3, 2015 at approximately 11:00 PM and nearly 12 hours later was found unresponsive.
After the review of jail surveillance video and numerous interviews, investigators found no evidence to indicate Circle Bear obtained methamphetamine while in jail, and authorities believe she brought in the meth in a way that was not detectable in normal search procedures.
The investigation continues regarding the source of the meth.
