January in Sioux Falls only means one thing...Burger Battle! This year's Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle is pretty intense. A record 37 savory burgers from local Sioux Falls restaurants are looking for your stomachs and votes.

When it comes to burgers, there definitely is one for everyone, especially in Sioux Falls! Sponsored by First Western Bank & Trust, the 11th annual Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle features burgers residents can sink their teeth into. It's hard to decide which of the 37 burgers to try. But someone has to do it! My fiancé and I were ready to try more burgers this past weekend. One of the burgers on top of my list to try was from Glacial Lakes Distillery. This year, they partnered with the food truck Cheezy Noodle to create the "Queso-Birria Burger." If you're a fan of cheese, this is the burger for you.

According to a previous article from my co-worker Jeff Harkness, the Queso-Birria Burger is an "Angus patty topped with Cheezy Noodle's signature Birria. This burger comes with chipotle aioli, shredded lettuce, grilled onions, tomatoes, and house-made smoked queso. Served with a side of seasoned fries."

Like many burgers in this year's Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle, the Queso-Birria Burger is fairly messy. Cheese is the main ingredient in this meal, and I wouldn't expect anything less from Cheezy Noodle. The grilled onions enhance the burger's flavors and leave you craving for more cheese. It's not the most flashiest burger on the menu this year, but it tastes great! I also wasn't crazy about the fries. They needed something extra to them!
