The new year ushers in a brand-new list of contenders for the Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle, with a record 37 entrants in 2024.

The latest to hit my taste buds is the Wagoolicious Burger at Fernson Brewing Company.

It's billed as:

Two cheddar-crusted 100% Local Wangus Beef Patties, Bacon Jam with Ferson's Snow Eater Stout, White and yellow American Cheese, Tomatoes, Pickles, Onions, Wagoo Signature Sauce, Lettuce, Brioche Bun

While a lot of places try to stack as much as they can on a burger, the folks at Fernson focused instead on flavor.

It starts with everything you expect from a classic cheeseburger and then goes to the next level when the sweetness of bacon jam kicks in.
