2024 Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle: Blarney Stone Pub

January in Sioux Falls only means one thing...Burger Battle! This year's Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle is pretty intense. A record 37 savory burgers from local Sioux Falls restaurants are looking for your stomachs and votes.

When it comes to burgers, there definitely is one for everyone, especially in Sioux Falls! Sponsored by First Western Bank & Trust, the 11th annual Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle features burgers residents can sink their teeth into. It's hard to decide which of the 37 burgers to try. But someone has to do it! The next burger to try on this adventure is called the Star-Spangled Burger from the Blarney Stone Pub. This was one of the burgers in this year's Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle that I was looking forward to eating on the first day of the competition.

According to a previous article from my co-worker Jeff Harkness, the Star-Spangled Burger is an "8 oz. Beef Patty or a 7 oz. Juicy Chicken Breast with Garlic Aoli, Lettuce & Sliced Pickles. Topped with American Cheese & Caramelized Onions. Drizzled with Rampart Sauce on a Sesame Seed Bun. Served with a Creamy Macaroni Salad or Choice of side."

Fair warning: This burger is very messy! The gooey American cheese is quite literally dripping off this burger. On top of the cheesy goodness, this burger very much tastes like a sophisticated Big Mac from McDonald's.

In a twist on an American classic, the Star-Spangled Burger is essentially a high-end Big Mac. While some may feel this entry lacks creativity, this burger from Blarney Stone Pub is a fitting tribute to America. In my opinion, there's nothing more American than a cheeseburger with pickles, a sesame seed bun, and a macaroni salad. It feels like your very own Fourth of July party!

Remember, this is just an opinion. The burger does taste great!

2024 Sioux Falls Area Concert Calendar

2023 was a banner year for live music in Sioux Falls. Recovery from the pandemic has been strong and Sioux Falls is getting to enjoy so many great live shows.

This year saw Matchbox 20 finally get to play in Sioux Falls after several postponements. Luke Bryan took Sioux Falls by storm. Recently Jelly Roll made lifelong fans when he was in the Sioux Empire.

2024 will continue to see the Denny Sanford PREMIERE Center hosting big-name music acts. Country music is the dominant genre on the calendar, but it's still early.

There are also fantastic shows planned in Brookings and The District in Sioux Falls.
