How much are you going to spend for New Year's Eve?

Pictured above is from my personal home kitchen. I have prepared this meal at a price tag of about 20 bucks including the wine.

If you're looking for something a little more elaborate, may I suggest this. An upscale steakhouse newly opened on West 52nd in New York City is serving a wallet busting New Year's Eve dinner for two for $10,000.

The co-owner says that the Great Recession is cooked. 'The economy is improving,' said Jack Sinanaj. 'People come ready to spend the money.'

The five-course menu begins with two pounds of Osetra caviar and a salad with poached pears, goat cheese and macadamia nuts.

The next course features wine and a lemon sorbet, while the main course is a Kobe steak and a South African lobster tail with black truffle.

The dinner is served with a 2010 bottle of Chateau Lafite Rothschild.

Dessert is a three-layer chocolate torte that's served with cognac pudding.
