Why Coke Tastes Better in Bottles

People are always saying it and now science proves it, sodas do taste better in glass. But why?

It has to do with the reaction between the metal the cans are made out of and the soda housed in it. Despite the best effort of drink manufacturers there is always a bit of reaction going on between the liquid and the metal despite the fact that the cans are coated with polymers meant to reduce it.

The opposite happens with plastic bottles as some of the taste of the bottle leaches into the soda. This is also an occurrence manufacturers have their scientists working to end. But until then, just know that you've been right all along.
