What Ever Happened To The Sioux Falls Party Tractor?
You've probably seen some Sip n' Cycles riding throughout downtown Sioux Falls for many summers. At one point last summer, you might have also seen a traveling tractor with people dancing the night away as it was making its way through the streets of Sioux Falls. But now that party tractor seems to be missing.
The SuFu Tractor was a new experience that brought South Dakota farm life to the Sioux Falls city lights. It was a lively atmosphere that allowed residents and visitors to see Sioux Falls from a different perspective. Unfortunately, the SuFu Tractor has not been seen at all this summer and residents are taking notice.
Colder weather will be in the Sioux Empire before ya know it, so why hasn't the SuFu Tractor been out and about? The answer is....well a little complicated to explain. The owners of the SuFu Tractor have been documenting the series of events on their Facebook page. Just from reading the multiple posts on the group's Facebook page, it appears that the City of Sioux Falls did not approve the tractor this year because it needed a proper commercial motor vehicle license.
The owners Jason and Tanya Harder and Shawn and Ava Ohnstad have been trying to get the SuFu Tractor back on the streets of Downtown Sioux Falls. But that doesn't look like it will happen anytime soon. According to a recent Facebook post, they recently sold the SuFu Tractor.
The "hope" is to eventually get the SuFu Tractor back on the road or come up with an alternative. Again, there are a lot of layers to this story.
I wrote a story last year about the start of the SuFu Tractor. It was a fun experience! Maybe one day we'll all ride the tractor again.
