Warm Temperatures Boost Crop Development Across South Dakota

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Above-average temperatures over the past week have boosted the development of crops across South Dakota.

The Agriculture Department says in its weekly crop report that corn development is ahead of the average pace, while soybeans lag behind.

About 20 percent of South Dakota's winter wheat crop is harvested, ahead of last year but behind the average of 29 percent. Harvesting of oats is 17 percent complete, on pace with the average.

Pasture and range conditions statewide are rated 65 percent good to excellent. Stock water supplies are 80 percent adequate to surplus
