Does Iowa Have the Most Farms in the U.S.?… Almost
If you're from the Hawkeye State, or even if you've spent a good deal of time in it, you know there's farms seemingly everywhere. After all, agriculture is the backbone of the state's economy and it pretty much always has been.
Whether its pork, corn, or soybeans, Iowa farmers definitely punch above their weight class. In fact, Iowa has more farms that almost any other state. Except two, that is.
Let's take a look at the list, or should I say, field?

According to World Population Review, here are the top 10 states with the most farms in the entire United States:
10) California: 62,900 Farms
9) Tennessee: 63,100 Farms
8) Minnesota: 65,300 Farms
7) Kentucky: 69,100 Farms
6) Oklahoma: 70,300 Farms
5) Illinois: 70,700 Farms
4) Ohio: 75,800 Farms
3) Iowa: 86,800 Farms
2) Missouri: 87,600 Farms
1) Texas: 231,000 Farms
While Iowa may not quite capture the top spot, it's worth noting that the Hawkeye State makes more money off its farms than any other state. What's Iowa's most profitable county? According to World Population Review, that would be Sioux County.
