This is the Lowest Point in All of Minnesota
According to World Population Review, the state of Minnesota is one of the flattest in the entire country. Out of the 50 states, the land of Ten Thousand Lakes comes in as the 14th flattest state in the US, in between Connecticut and Michigan.
Its highest point is Eagle Mountain, which has an elevation of 2,301 feet and can be found in the southeast section of the boundary waters. While Eagle Mountain may soar above the rest of the state, oddly enough, the state's lowest point is only a few miles away. In fact, on a clear day, you can see Minnesota's lowest point from the top of Eagle Mountain.
Welcome to the Lowest Point in All of Minnesota
The lowest point in Minnesota, at 600 ft. above sea level, is also the biggest body of water in the entire US. The shores of Lake Superior are only 12 miles (give or take) from Eagle Mountain, and that's where you'll find the lowest elevation in the state.
This is common for much of the inland states in the US, as bodies of water are typically the lowest point in each state. However, the lowest point in the entire country isn't a lake or river, but rather the Badwater Basin of Death Valley, California. It stands at 282 feet below sea level, and similar to Minnesota, it's not far from the state's highest point, and the highest elevation in the entire US, Mount Whitney, at 14,505 feet.
