South Dakota Tribe Decides to Return $25,000 Donation from the Washington Redskins
According to the Associated Press, a South Dakota tribe is going to return a $25,000 donation from the Washington Redskins citing the name of "Redskins is derogatory and innapropriate".
The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe voted this week to return the check, from the Washington Redskins' Original Americans Foundation which was donated to the tribe's rodeo association last month.
That specific foundation within the Washington Redskins organization was founded in 2014 by team owner Dan Snyder after many Native Americans and as well as other individuals and groups called for the team to do away with its name citing very similar issues as the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe.
