The 2019 football season is still more than three months away, but the South Dakota football program is already anxiously awaiting the 2020 season when they can show off the new look DakotaDome, which is currently undergoing $26 million in renovations.

Coyote fans will have the wait until week three of that season to see their upgraded digs when Missouri State comes to Vermillion to kick off the Missouri Valley Conference season, September 19, 2020.

USD will also host Western Illinois, Dixie State (UT), Northern Iowa, and North Dakota State during the 2020 regular season, which begins with road games at Iowa State and Northern Arizona.

The 2020 schedule is also notable with the South Dakota-South Dakota State game being played in early October in Brookings. Traditionally that match-up comes sometime in the final two weeks of the season.

The Coyotes open the 2019 season at home with Montana, August 31, before heading to Oklahoma, September 7.
