Farmer’s Almanac Says Prepare Snowy South Dakota Winter Days
I hope you're a fan of cold, snowy winter South Dakota days. Thanks to the Farmer's Almanac, the first cold snap and snowfall are coming sooner than you think.
I know we're still in the "Dog Days" of summer, but like it or not...cold days are coming. And the Farmer's Almanac says this winter weather forecast is going to be a "wild ride."

What's the Farmer's Almanac all about?
For over 200 years, the Farmer's Almanac has been known for its predicted yearly weather forecasts. Some forecasts share good news, and others send a chill down your spine. Speaking of chill, the Farmer's Almanac says South Dakota is in store for a cold, snowy winter.
Officially, the first day of winter is December 21st. However, cold and snow may appear in early September. And it will only get colder from there.
A significant cold snap in mid-January will keep most shivering. Winter’s wrath continues with another pronounced cold spell predicted for mid-February.
South Dakota is part of the North Central region for the Old Farmer's Almanac's predictions. Currently, it appears that the Sioux Empire may experience significant snowfall totals and cold temperatures.
The Great Lakes, Ohio Valley, and North Central states are set for a classic winter wonderland, while the Pacific Northwest mountains are gearing up for some impressive snowfall totals.
Keep in mind...winter is still 125 days away. We all know how unpredictable Mother Nature can be. So maybe Jack Frost can be kinder to us this winter! One can hope.
