Over the weekend, The City of Brandon's water treatment plant had a major equipment failure. City officials say they are expecting parts in a few days to fix the issue. They have been actively keeping the public up to date with the latest information on its Facebook page.

Although city officials say the water is safe to drink, residents can expect low water pressure and slight discoloration of the water itself.

Here's the most recent update:

Sunday, August 4th 8:23pm Update: Conserve, Conserve, Conserve. We are asking for citizens to conserve and we are hoping to have one pump running sometime tomorrow. NO LAWN WATERING....make sure sprinkler systems are shut off. If you are not home, if you could please ask someone to shut it off for you that would be ideal. We will post updates when we have them.

The public works crew with the City of Brandon is doing their best to resolve this problem as quickly as possible. Every little bit helps! Save your water!
