What is Big Brother all about?

Big Brother is a reality TV competition show that brings strangers together in one house, totally isolated from the world. For the next few weeks, each "houseguest" must complete a series of challenges. The show is also a great social experiment to see how individuals compete under pressure. Oh, and houseguests are filmed almost every moment each day.

Recently, Big Brother welcomed the 16 new houseguests for the show's 27th season, and "quirky" South Dakota resident Kelley Jorgensen is one of the lucky few entering her new home.

Kelley Jorgensen is a Web Designer who couldn't be more excited to be part of Big BrotherIn an interview with Parade Magazine, Kelley is hoping to make new friends while trying to win with her "farm kid grit."

There’s no such thing as “I’m tired of this task” and “I’m done with it,” or “this task is too hard and I’m done and I’m just gonna go inside.” No, we finish the task. Whatever needs to be done, we do it. And that’s what I’m gonna do in this house. I’m gonna be a farm kid.

Kelley is no stranger to wild adventures. She's traveled to 42 countries, all 50 states, and half of Mexico. If Kelley can handle major solo travels, she can easily take on Big Brother. Read more of Kelley's interview here.

The Remaining Drive-In Theaters In South Dakota

If you were born last century...you know, in the nineteen hundreds (ugh)...you may have spent a summer evening in the car watching movies. I don't mean on your phone, I mean at the drive-in movie theater!

If you were in Sioux Falls in the 1970s and '80s you may remember seeing Jaws and Indiana Jones at The East Park or the Starlite Drive-In. Both drive-ins opened just after World War 2.

The East Park didn't make it out of the '70s, closing in 1978. The Starlite survived long enough to see the birth of home video, closing in 1985.

Drive-in movies had a bit of a resurgence during the pandemic. They were a way to go out and do something social without getting out of your car.

If you tried one during that time, or you remember the fun of a warm summer evening watching movies on that giant screen there are still places in South Dakota and around Sioux Falls you can do it.
