South Dakota Brandon Valley Baseball Grandstand 'Total Loss'

Some South Dakota baseball fans have a heavy heart after a fire broke out on Monday night destroying the grandstand.

The Brandon Valley Baseball Association shared the unfortunate news that the big grandstand is a 'total loss' as a result of a fire.

Officials with the Brandon Valley Baseball Association say the fire happened underneath the grandstand at First National Bank Field.

Just two days ago, the JV Black Team for the Brandon Valley Baseball Association celebrated the big State Championship victory against Renner. They defeated Red, Rapid City Post 22, Rapid City Post 320, and Harrisburg in order to get to the big game. Now those cheers and fans in the grandstand during the win will be a memory.

Everything under the grandstand is a total loss. Heavy smoke damage to the concession stand and pressbox. Also damage to the grandstand. Please stay away from the area as the Fire Marshall is coming to investigate.Thank you to the Brandon Fire Department for your quick response to the fire.

The Brandon Valley Baseball Association shared the heartbreaking pictures of the fire's aftermath in a Facebook post.

The Sioux Empire are devastated for the players and coaches who pour their heart and soul into the game and to the fans who support them.
