Sioux Falls Transient Arrested with Stolen Vehicle
A man Sioux Falls police describe as a transient is accused of driving away in a vehicle that was left running outside a store.
Captain Greg VandeKamp says the owner of a Ford Windstar mini-van left it running outside Dollar General at 316 North Kiwanis Avenue Wednesday morning and it was missing when he returned less than five minutes later.
Vandekamp says police found a Ford F-350 pickup that had been stolen earlier from the Get 'N Go at 14th and Minnesota.
Police followed the tracks of the mini-van to the 2500 block of West 8th Street and found Steven Wahle, a 33-year-old transient.
VandeKamp says Wahle had the keys to the pickup in his pocket.
So far, he is charged with larceny and possession of a stolen vehicle.
