
Update: Sioux Falls Police Recover Body of Missing 36-Year-Old
A search for a missing Sioux Falls man is over, but sadly, it leaves a community heartbroken.
Officials have confirmed that 36-year-old Sioux Falls resident Joshua Cauwels has been found deceased. His body was found on Tuesday afternoon, April 21st. One of his family sent a Facebook post sharing this devastating news.
Joshy was found yesterday, please keep his little girls and his family and all of us extended family in your thoughts and prayers. We are all very saddened and are processing these next steps.

The Sioux Falls Police Department, loved ones, and local community leaders are coming together to find a missing man.
36-year-old Sioux Falls resident Joshua Cauwels went missing on Thursday, April 16th. His family is concerned and wants to know that he is safe.
Unfortunately, there is very limited information about Joshua Cauwels' disappearance. All the latest details about Joshua Cauwels can be found on the South Dakota Missing Persons website. Here's what we know:
- Eyes: Hazel
- Hair: Brown
- Height: 5'11"
- Weight: 185 pounds
Keep in mind: The South Dakota Missing Persons website lists Joshua Cauwels' disappearance date as February 16th, 2026. Family and friends on social media explain that he went missing this April.
Joshua Cauwels is well-known in the Sioux Falls area. He is a dedicated employee at the St. Francis House, and they are joining the mission to bring Joshua home.
