Finally, it's really happening! Shania Twain's new single and album are press release-official, meaning there will be no more delays, teases or rumors to lead fans down a hopeless path of disappointment. Is that too dramatic?

Maybe a little, but to say "Life's About to Get Good" is a long time coming is an understatement. Even Chicago Cubs fans started to feel bad for her most faithful. The End of Time was like, "Hurry up, boo!"

The last time Twain dropped a new album on us, no one had any idea who Carrie Underwood or Luke Bryan were. Jason Aldean was still driving the Pepsi truck. Kelsea Ballerini was just 9 years old. Up! (2002) was an international sensation that solidified Twain as the biggest star in country music, but then she went dark. Twain's last Top 10 hit was "Party for Two," a 2004 collaboration with Billy Currington.

Here's everything we've learned about Shania Twain's new album.

The Title

Shania Twain's new album is titled simply Now.

The Release Date

Shania Twain's Now is set for release on Sept. 29.

The Cover Art

The Now cover art is somewhat reminiscent of some of Twain's racier outfits from years past, with Twain donning leopard print gloves.

Twain takes on some heavier themes on Now, inspired by the events in her life in recent years. Divorce and dysphonia (a vocal condition that required years of therapy) are just two of them, with the latter a result of Lyme disease. Twain debuted the album's first single, "Life's About to Get Good," live at the 2017 Stagecoach Festival in April and released the single on June 15.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times Twain explains why writing "Life's About to Get Good" was so powerful. She started in a serious, dark place, but the song works her out of it.

“Life’s about joy, life’s about pain, life’s about this, life’s about that," she says. "Then all of a sudden: ‘Life’s about to get good.’ And I thought, ‘What a great play on words! How fun is that?”

Twain tells Rolling Stone that "Swingin' With My Eyes Closed" is about fighting back.

"The fighter in me wrote that song," she says. "I was thinking of a boxer taking a swing, or a baby first coming out with his eyes and fists closed. They can't even see yet and they're swinging with their eyes closed." Twain debuted it live during an appearance on the Today Show.

"Who's Gonna Be Your Girl?" is probably less fun. The song was inspired by Twain's divorce from her former producer, Mutt Lange.

“It’s about feeling unappreciated and knowing that you are secondary,” she tells Rolling Stone. “Having to live with someone that has different priorities and accepting that you’re not the most important thing in a person’s life.”

The Producers

Twain worked with Matthew Koma, Ron Aniello (Bruce Springsteen, Gavin DeGraw), Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes) and Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Norah Jones) on the tracks for Now.
