Ray Soukup, Longtime Buche Foods Employee, Retiring After 50 Years
I've known Ray Soukup pretty much my entire life. My dad worked with Ray at Buche Foods in Wagner in the 70's when I was just a kid.
When I saw Ray a few weeks ago at the store, he had the same welcoming smile and friendly words. We ask about each other's family and I always joke about when he's going to retire. When he told me he really was going to retire June 1st, I laughed. I joked that this was at least the fifth time he was retiring and he assured me this time, he was going to do it.
Buche Foods has planned a retirement party for Ray. The open house will be from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Buche Foods in Wagner. They'll be serving hot dogs, cake, and ice cream in the deli. Stop by and give Ray your best wishes.
I am certain this is for real this time because I told him that if I come in Buche's after June 1st and he's still there, I'm going to drag him out by the ear.
Owner R.F. Buche said they might still see Ray around the store, because according to Ray, they're going to need his assistance ordering milk.
