The holidays are a wonderful time of year to help those in our community and the people over at Buche Food are no exception. The goal for 2019 was to raise $10,000 for cancer awareness and they surpassed their goal once again.

"I'm humbled and very fortunate to work with such a good group of people that truly goes above and beyond to help our friends and neighbors" stated RF Buche, President of GF Buche Company. (He's the pink flamingo in the photo. Looking good RF!)

Team members at Buch Food came up with an idea last year to help raise additional money for the cause.

Every time an employee wore their "We Support" Cancer Awareness Tshirts and blue jeans to work, the employee donated an additional dollar to the cause. In previous years, the team has worn pink shirts to help support breast cancer, but this year they decided to help raise awareness for all cancer and switched to the blue t-shirts instead.

The total amount of money that was raised came to a total of $10,555.89 according to Jody Kotab, GF Buche Co HR Manager.

Since this fund was started, 102 cancer patients have been helped. 100% of the profit being donated to the relief fund will help offset travel and medical expenses acquired by Buche Foods & Gus Stop customers that are fighting any type or form of cancer.
