A newly married South Dakota couple got a major surprise on their wedding day in Cancun, Mexico.

South Dakota native Cassidy Peery (formerly Mutchler) grew up a huge '90s country fan, and she especially loves country singer Neal McCoy and his song "The Shake." While in Mexico with her now husband Jack for their wedding, Neal McCoy just happened to be at the same resort the same week of their wedding.

There was a rumor that the country singer was in the area, taking a quick break from touring. Cassidy and her family kept their eyes peeled throughout the week, hoping to catch a glimpse of Neal McCoy.

The day before the wedding, Cassidy walked into the restaurant on the resort and guess who sat next to her table...Neal McCoy. Cassidy tells our friends at Pigeon605 that she never imagined "the soundtrack to her childhood would become part of her wedding day." She eventually got the courage to talk to her "childhood" hero.

“I said: ‘I know you’re on vacation. I’m so sorry to bother you. But I grew up on ’90s country and rodeo’ed all over the place … and we listened to the radio a lot, and I just remember ‘The Shake’ being my absolutely favorite song. Being a little girl, I remember standing on the backseat of the pickup, and my dad yelling: ‘I can’t see anything. You need to sit down!' ”

Call it fate, call it a coincidence. But Cassidy took it as a sign to invite Neal McCoy to their wedding. She didn't think it would actually happen. But her husband, Jack, had a plan. Thanks to Neal McCoy's road manager and convincing their wedding planners to improvise the ceremony, Neal McCoy performed as Cassidy was walking down the aisle. The country singer even filmed the big moment on his Facebook page.

It was the best surprise ever for the new bride. Neal McCoy even sang Cassidy's favorite song at the reception, "The Shake!"

Neal McCoy's tour just kicked off in South Dakota. Cassidy, with her family, caught up with Neal before his Sturgis show. You can read more about their special day here with Pigeon605.

From Blockbusters to Hidden Gems: 35 Movies That Take Place in South Dakota

When it comes to South Dakota and Hollywood, we've seen our fair share of films that have used our state as the backdrop for a number of productions over the years. They may not have always filmed here, but movie folk love to set stories here.

We're all familiar with the blockbusters like 1990's Dances With Wolves, 1959's North By Northwest, and more recently, 2007's National Treasure: Book of Secrets. But our state's life on the big screen goes back nearly 100 years.

According to IMDb, it all started with Courtin' Wildcats, a 1929 film which, like so many of the 29 films on this list, is a Western set in the time before South Dakota became a state in 1889.
